Do you ever feel like you are not good enough? I know I do. A few days ago, I responded to an Instagram post about depression and anxiety. It basically stated that the only solution to either of these debilitating mental health issues was being in the present. While I believe in the power of being present, I did not agree. My feelings about it were strong enough that I composed a comment trying to explain that both issues are far more complex. I was thoughtful about my words and presentation, so my message would be clear.

I posted it and went to do something else. Later in the day, I picked up my phone to look at photos on Instagram again. I hesitated and became a little anxious. I could feel myself being judged and the fear stopped me for a moment. I quickly recognized that I didn’t even know if there was a response to my comment, so how could I know there was judgement?

That judgement is something I carry. I am my own worst critic. While I have worked diligently to learn how to move around this judgement and not let it hold me back, it is always there. I spend so much energy…good creative energy…on working around that tough inner critic. I want to build a foundation for releasing the shame-based fears I harbor. I can’t wait to hold this retreat!

What is holding you back?

Does it seem like there is an invisible barrier that keeps you from reaching your goals?

You know how to reach them, you can see where you want to be, but you somehow fall short.

Lack of self-compassion, fear of being judged and being your own worst critic are signs you may be harboring toxic shame. This binding shame could be the thing that is holding you back. Our retreat is focused on healing that shame and overcoming the fear of your own wilderness.

Spiritual Coach and Interfaith Minister, Rev. Jeep Ries has healed binding shame in her own life, studied the works of John Bradshaw, Tara Brach and Brené Brown and guided dozens of people to improve their lives by healing binding shame. You will positively experience yourself through Reiki, Crystal and Sound Healing, guided meditations, writing, and ritual.
